William Cohan has a good piece on Goldman Sachs today. Mr. Cohan's House of Cards -- remains one of the very best books on The Great Collapse. Goldman, meanwhile, got some very bad news yesterday.

Disruptive Innovation.

The Tribeca Film Festival honored the great Clay Christensen today with its inaugural "lifetime achievement" award in the arena of disruptive innovation. Hardly surprising, given that Christensen literally wrote the book on the subject. The better news was that Christensen's lymphoma, after a nasty regimen of chemotherapy, appears to have been defeated (or at least forestalled from taking his life). He spoke movingly about the experience in his acceptance speech.

Actual Greek Bail-out Cost.


It's not $45 billion. It's $100-120 billion. Euros! Not dollars. Although if this keeps up, the two will reach parity shortly.

Yesterday's show-trial of Goldman Sachs was depressing in almost every respect. A bunch of people who paved the way for the financialization of the United States economy attacked the financialization of the United States economy.

Day one for the baby of my nephew Alexander and his wife Sarah. All are doing well. It's a beautiful day in Oregon.

The dreamy supermodel is a fine film-maker. Her documentary about maternal health (which premiers at the Tribeca Film Festival this week) is absorbing and well-executed. The film's web-site is still "under construction." That will presumably change this week.
