Torrey Pines

Tiger's changed his mind. The redesigned Torrey Pines is a US Open course. A while back, Woods had dismissed it as a venue for the 2008 Open. But having played it in the Buick Invitational practice rounds this week, he now finds it worthy. This will come as welcome news to Rees Jones, who oversaw the course's redesign. Friends of mine who have seen it say that Jones has transformed the course. I've got an e-mail into my friend George Peper, editor of Golf magazine, to get his take.
