Who Are You For?

I've written two columns and one blog entry for Real Clear Politics so far this year. A number of people who have read those pieces have taken the time to email me. Apparently, they have the impression that I'm "for" Mike Huckabee.

Since I think it should be required of every columnist/commentator to declare their preference in political campaigns, I hereby declare mine: I'm voting for Sen. John McCain. And I hope that Sen. Obama wins the Democratic nomination.

Who I'm voting for and what I write about the campaign are separate things. But my hope (or bias) is that the nomination process produces an Obama-McCain general election race.
