Bear Trap

The "grand bargain" between the Russian electorate and Vladimir Putin has always been this: "deliver strong economic growth and you'll have our support."  And, with rising oil prices, deliver he did.  Now, with oil prices falling through the floor, the "grand bargain" is beginning to come unstuck.  The Wall Street Journal has a report that is well worth your time.
