Ethics Outbreak

The matter of New York Governor David Paterson's World Series Game One tickets has now been turned over to prosecutors who will, presumably, determine whether a "crime" has been committed. There are any number of reasons to defenestrate Governor Paterson from New York political life and the sooner we do so, the better off (I suppose) we will be.

But this outbreak of "ethical concerns" regarding some tickets to a Yankee game is so silly, it's absurd. If you can't use their tickets and eat their food and drink their liquor and still vote against them -- to paraphrase the late, great California House Speaker Jesse Unruh -- you shouldn't be in politics in the first place.
