New York Governor David Patterson's choice of Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand as the state's new US Senator is first rate.  She's smart, she's able, she's not Andrew Cuomo.  The focus of today's news coverage is on process.  But the result is positive, like Ellisblog!.  One hopes she takes the time to read Jeremy Grantham's latest missive, which, unlike Ellisblog!, is a bit gloomy.
